Egyptian Workshop - 31st October 2016

What a fantastic day! With many of the children dressed up, years 3 & 4 immersed themselves in Ancient Egypt for a day. Leaning about the Pharaohs, farming, education, famous sites, the Pyramids and the traditions and customs of the Ancient Egyptians, including how to play 'Jackals & Hounds.

Mark Halls from 'Portals to the Past' dressed as an Archaeologist, talked about and showed us different Egyptian artifacts. Afterwards dressed as a priest, he demonstrated how Pharaohs were mummified before being placed in a sarcophagus ready to be entombed.
